This woomera (Aboriginal spear thrower) measures 35 inches in length. It is painted on both sides with ochre. The peg is still in place but some of the ochre cross hatch pattern has suffered loss. This woomera was collected in Arnhem Land in 1963.

This hunting boomerang measures 23 inches in length. It was collected in the Northern Territory during the early 1960's. Both sides are painted with a cross hatched pattern showing snakes and fish. Some of the ochre has suffered loss but otherwise the condition is fine.

Description: Aboriginal Ceremonial Spear

This small spear measures 39 inches in length. This type of spear was used for ceremonial purposes in Arnhem Land. The spearhead is painted on both sides with ochres and shows representations of a Goanna. The shaft has a slight patina indicating actual use. Some of the ochre has suffered loss and the shaft has been holed, but otherwise the condition is fine.
