This fine and attractive bark measures 12x33 inches and was collected in Arnhem Land (Northern Territory) in the early 1960's. The artist is unknown but its colour and style are reminiscent of Mawalan Marika (1908-1967).

This bark measures 11x34 inches and was collected in Arnhem Land (Northern Territory) in the early 1960's. The artist is unknown but it is stylistically very similar to works by Mithili Wanambi.

This bark measures 11x33 inches and was collected in Arnhem Land (Northern Territory) in 1982. The artist is unknown but it is stylistically very similar to works by Bokarra Maymura. On the back it is marked: Feb'82/WT.

This Lonka Lonka shell measures 3x4 inches and was collected in the Northern Territory in 1964 by a policeman. The artist was Butcher Joe Nangan, who specialised in carving these rare pictorial Lonka Lonka's. See lots 43, 44 and 45 in the Sothebys Aboriginal Art Catalogue 26th June 2000 (number AU640) for similar examples.

This attractive bark measures 11x33 inches and was collected in Port Keats (Wadeye, Western Australia) in the early 1960s. The artist is unknown but it is stylistically similar to works by Charlie Mardigan 1926-1986. Barks from Port Keats (Wadeye) are very sought after for their abstract aesthetic.

This attractive bark measures 21x35 inches and was collected in Port Keats (Wadeye, Western Australia) in 1984. The artist is Charlie Mardigan 1926-1986. Charlie Mardigan was one of the most famous Wadeye artists. The dreaming represented shows a man and a woman head to head. They have been dispossessed and are dreaming of their homeland. The white mounds at the edge represent their fingers/hands on their hearts. It is interesting to note that this dreaming also appears in a painting by famed Turkey Creek artist Jack Britten (for sale on this site).
